Introduction to Empirical Evidence
The basis of this assignment is to develop our skills in location photography. We have been told to consider the them of this years format festival, this theme being 'Evidence'. We will be expected to use 'Evidence' to inform our work and to positively consider it while shooting. The work can be a single image or a series of images.
The term evidence can be constructed in many different ways these are the examples we have been given scientific/forensic research, explaining/documenting myths, documentary/reportage photography and so on.
In this assignment I will be taking an observational view of architecture, structure and how light effects them.
In this assignment I will be evidencing the effects of man made light in a dark setting, for this I will shooting at night and in dark places seeing how the artificial light effects the scenes. Along side this I will also be documenting the way in which buildings are constructed, looking at the lines, patterns and layers that the architect has encoded into the building.
I will be shooting in different cities as I will be attending 4 university open days as I proceed through this assignment. I will be shooting in Bristol, Brighton, Manchester and Leeds as well as the local area and locations I think of through out the assignment.
The assignment will be a collection of both subjects displayed together.
